spurgeonThis sermon was read before a congregation and is opened with a full reading of Habakkuk chapter 3.

While an opening prayer is certainly welcome, this sermon is marred by a long, monotone prayer that includes plenty of “O Lord”s.  However, the reading of the sermon itself is satisfactory.  If you desire to do so, you may fast-forward to 15 minutes and you will not miss a word of the sermon.

Of personal note, I found of insight that Spurgeon tells us not to vow to revive ourselves (for we will surely fail), but to pray to God and ask Him to continue His work of revival within us. I also appreciated his view of how sound doctrine has come to be disputed in these days, it is toward the end of minute 55 and onward.
